There are two types of rot to be aware of: dry rot and wet rot. Timber can also be affected by wood destroying insects known as woodworm. Dry Rot

Wet Rot

Woodworm
Woodworm is the most common name for the larvae stage of wood boring beetles. This type of beetle is usually found in households from early springtime to mid-autumn.
