In order to make this special date even more memorable, we are dedicating the whole year to charity. Our staff suggested 20+ fundraising activities and 17 charities
that we will support. On the 22nd of December, during the Veitchi Group
Centenary Auction we will finalize our campaign and give all the raised funds to charity.
The Traveling Painting idea was inspired by the abstract expressionist Jackson Pollock
. He was well known for his unique style of making paintings by dripping paint on canvas.
We thought that we could borrow this technique and create something unique that could be sold during the Veitchi Auction
at the end of the year. The painting visited all of our branches where it received a fresh layer of paint every time. Everybody at The Veitchi Group had a chance to participate in this fun process transfering our good will on to canvas.
3 additional paintings will be produced by the charities themselves. Bauer Radio's Cash for Kids
and the Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS)
will be producing their own paint splashing masterpieces.
Once all of these paintings are finished, we will launch an online auction
so that everybody would have their chance to make a bid. 100% of the sold painting value
will be going to the charity who produced their own painting.
