Damp Basement Waterproofing
It does not matter if your property is new or old, it can still be affected by below ground damp. Some properties might not have an existing damp proofing membrane and others are built with traditional damp proof barriers that were installed directly onto the wall and below the floor slab to prevent water from entering your property. Unfortunately, these systems are sometimes not fitted properly, become damaged or get bridged when underground water levels rise. This might result in damp patches on your walls, floor or even flooding in more severe cases. Once this happens your basements can have further damp problems such as condensations and mould growth.
A more effective alternative to traditional waterproofing is a water management system that does not simply hold the water back at the waterproofed area but directs it to a drainage system and removes the water from your property.

Every basement waterproofing job is different as the project specification varies greatly due to the site conditions and the planned use of the area. Modern basement waterproofing systems work much differently from the way traditional systems do. Instead of simply applying a waterproof barrier and hoping that it will make your basement impenetrable – modern basement waterproofing systems control the water by using a drainage system in conjunction with cavity waterproofing membrane to the walls and floor. This system manages water entering the basement and directs the water to an existing drain or to a sump and pump. This system pumps the water out of the property and lowers the potential water pressure to the walls and floor keeping the basement dry.
