PCA Student of the Year 2021 – Alistair O’Donnell
Richardson & Starling surveyor is named Student of the Year by the Property Care Association.Richardson & Starling are celebrating the success of Alistair O’Donnell, who has been named Student of the Year by a national trade body.
Alistair O’Donnell, 29, from Glasgow, has been presented with a Student of the Year award after gaining top marks while studying to become a Property Care Association Certificated Surveyor of Timber and Dampness in Buildings (CSTDB).
Graham Bruce, managing director at Richardson & Starling, said: “Alistair joined Richardson & Starling two years ago and part of his training was the PCA’s CSTDB.
“When lockdown restrictions came into force, it gave Alistair the time to study and focus on his exams. He sat all three modules at the same time, which is unusual. We were delighted that he passed all three modules on the first go and went on to win the Student of the Year Award. As a company we’re very proud of our longevity, our customer service and the investment we make in our team. A lot of our staff have been with us for many years and we’re proud to support them through their training with the PCA.
“We’ve previously been recognised by the PCA with Contractor of the Year awards and one of our colleagues was a Student of the Year in 2016. We’ve already got seven more team members lined up for training for next year, so hopefully there’ll be another Student of the Year in 2022!”
Every autumn the PCA presents ‘Student of the Year’ awards to individuals who undertake training with the Association, based on their results.
Steve Hodgson, Chief Executive of the PCA, said: “Expanding the talent and skills within our industry is hugely important to the economy, to the construction of vital infrastructure and to home-owners across the UK.
“I’d like to personally congratulate Alistair at Richardson & Starling for the hard work and dedication that is recognised with this award.”
