Case Study – Concrete Lintel Repair

Reinforced Concrete in buildings such as lintels and cills are very durable but even the strongest concrete will deteriorate when damp penetrates and affects the reinforcement. In this case, lintels contained steel I-beams that started to corrode and expand in diameter, causing the lintel to crack.

Our specialists removed the poor concrete and brushed all loose rust from I-beams. The lintel was reconstructed using shutters and filling the void with a matching consistency repair mortar. This fast-setting mortar was fully set within the first hour and the lintel was painted to match the existing architecture within the same day.
